Faculty of Electrical Engineering

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering was founded in 1953 as one of the basic faculties of the Railway College in Prague, and was re-established in 1992.The departments representing the basis of the Faculty exist for several decades. They continuously created with their activity the main trend of the Faculty both in pedagogic and scientific-research area. Original activities of these departments were oriented mainly for technical aspects of classical transport and later increased task of Communications in the form of technical operation of telecommunications.

Present traditional activity is enriched with some changes characteristic for the development of science and technology in recent period. It concerns especially areas of information systems, modern telecommunication technologies, development of power semiconductive systems and modern control of electric networks. Study of interdisciplinary branches is also increasing, namely: mechatronics, telecommunication management, biomedicine engineering and specialization: oriented on information systems in electroenergetics.
